For cresties, would the 18 x 18 x 18 exo-terra viv be suitable?
If so, how many geckos can be kept in one that size?
Or should I get the one with 6inches extra of climbing space?
I'm looking to get 2 cresties... so would the largest one be too big???
Thanks

The bigger the better.
The X large exo-terra is what I have for just one- but I would say a pair would be fine in it.
I wouldn't use the cube one, as the extra height makes a lot of differene imo.

I agree with Mememe. The higher Exo Terra would be better for Cresteds - assuming your going to keep them in the viv into adulthood. In my opinion you could keep two adult Cresteds maximum in that size viv. _________________ Best wishes, Jackie

There's hardly ever such a thing as too big with reptile cages
I use 2ft x 2ft x 20" high mesh vivs. These house up to 6 adults. I would suggest that for a normal keeper wanting a nice display 6 animals is far too many, 1.1 or 1.2 max would be fine. I have success with mine due to the method I use with hides etc. They have so many hides that they are happy and can escape each other if required.
Doesn't look too pretty if you kept them as a display, but the geckos love the set up and I have seen a big improvement in them since a switched to this housing set up.
Remember, it's not just the cage size that determines how many animals that would be happy within, more important is how you set it up. _________________

You're best to talk to a local chicken farmer. I buy mine one pallet at a time from local egg producer. _________________

Thanks for the replies!
I've bought loads of plastic plants for the viv so they shouldnt be short of hiding places...
Is there anything I should stay away from? Or will most fake plants be ok??
Thanks again!! |
