Hey ya'll.

I'm at my sisters place and when we hade one of the boas out, my former 0.1, he noticed that she makes squeeqy noises when she breathes.

She's been boxed since she got attacked by these little parasites (Whe call it kvalster, not sure what it's called in english) And so she is in a box with a heatmat under it, so the temp is no problem at all.

My first thoughts were that she caught a cold or something in that matter, but the numbers kinda don't add-up.

Whatyou think about it?

Sounds pretty much like a respiratory infection. Advice....take the little one to a vet.....soonest.

Best of luck

Some Boas breathe heavily, I suspect there's nothing to worry about. Is she 'flemmy' inside her mouth?

err on the side of caution. Take to a vet. At least if there isn't anything to worry about, you'll have peace of mind.

Can't say i've ever heard of a heavy breathing snake before.

Have a look yourself before rushing to the vet, if the boa has a bubbley mouth or what appears like mucus around her nostrils then yes, take it to the vet, you've got a problem. If nothing but you're still concerned, get to the vet.

This would probably be classed as the advancing stages of an RI. If you respect your snake, you'll take to a vet.

Best of luck and I hope it all works out.

this happened to me with a royal. i took him to vet and he was fine, but i would always err on the side of caution and get them checked.

Hm okay. We'll keep lookin' for that slimey stuff. Didn't notice anything before.

And well to be on the safe side probably take the little girl to the vet, atleast if it continues.

Thanks. Smile

by the time the mucus appears its well advanced. probably still treatable, but this is lifethreatening, and if there are other snakes then isolate the wheezing one.

As it is right now all of 'em are isolated from eachother (2 boas, 1 ball) They were planning to put the boas in to their viv again (They go suprisingly well together) but I guess it won't happen now. Smile
