Hi, I keep a large naturalistic multi species viv with lizards, snakes, bird and insects, taken me 25 years to get this going, looking to see if I can share this with anyone who's interested.

hi Arthur,
Welcome to the site, glad you have finally joined up.
Hope things are going well, seems like decades ago since I remember you coming to the old Vivarium
I've never actually seen photos of your setup, would be great if you could post some when you get time.
take care,

Hi Scot, I wondered if it was you. I spent a large part of last year in our house in Italy, trying to get it ready for our move there in 2 years.
You ought to see the wildlife where we are, Italian wall lizards, a big green lizard, alpine newts, salamanders, frogs, toads and slowworms, it's brilliant. Mustn't forget snakes, I think I've found at least 3 different types, one of them being a grass snake, at least 4, maybe more, feet.
One day I was driving along and there was a guy, beating a large grass snake to death with a lump of wood, I stopped and tried to explain, in my very broken Italian that it was harmless. I think he might have thought I was a nutter, so he stopped, I got back in the car and he then finished it off. When I would carefully rescue small slowworms when digging, the locals would shout vipperi, vipperi. Anything that looks like a snake is dodgy to them.
That viv is brilliant and using a bath is such a good idea, when I do a viv in Italy, I think I'll do something like that, it's got to be among the best I've seen.
What are you keeping nowadays?

Sounds like a great move Arthur, all those herps right in your back yard.
I'm not keeping too much now, concentrating on Crested geckos, Royal pythons, Dwarf monitors, Gila Monsters and a few other odds and sods. _________________

PS. I am trying to get some photos going, I was going to use imovie to snatch some video frames, but I don't seem to be able to turn them into jpeg photo. I might have to borrow a stills camera and do it that way.I am on it so to speak.
