Hi, I read somewhere that just behind the back legs and above the cloaca there are a row of spiny scales that, although small, can some times be seen sticking out. The females may or may not have them but they are less developed, this was for V glauerti but i can see this difference with my V a brachyurus i will try to get some photos of it..

From what i've seen my female has this scale feature, but i noticed it on the male first, checked my female thinking/hoping she didn't have it but a quick clance and i saw a lump but on closer examination, these lumps, i can only describe as less pronounced?
Still got to take these photos _________________ http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Bird-fly/

Hi, I haven't been able to get the female snapped yet, but heres the male:
not brilliant photos but i think this appendage is easy to see.
My female has this lump but it isn't near as well defined. The raised and pointy scales are more rounded on my female and the lump is smaller.
I'll try and catch her tonight. _________________ http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Bird-fly/

Your welcome mate, i'm not sure how trust worthy this is but as i said above there is a definate difference between them that is imo a lot easier and less invasive than probing. In some instances it might be harder than comparing head sizes or hemi-penal bulges ?
I dont know how old mine are, i have only had them a few months, they are defiately sexually mature and about 14-15 inches long TL. I think they were some ones breeding project before i found them, and they were sold off after some point?. _________________ http://s124.photobucket.com/albums/p17/Bird-fly/
