sorry this may seem really stupid but i was wondering...if you have a dwa licence then does that permit any dangerous animal or just the one you have aplied for (in your case the Caimen)??

if you have a license you can keep any animal on DWA you want, however when you apply and reapply you have to state what animals you plan to keep or are already keeping.

however i am not sure what happens if you just go out and buy a new animal. do you have to contact the council that supplied you with the license ad tell them?

you are most welcome, i have been researching it for a while now. i still have to wait a few years until i can do it though, stupid age rule! and parents! lol

can anyon e answer my question about what happens when you buy a new animal. do you have to tell the council that gave you the licence? or do anything else of that sort?

it depends on your council, some let you apply to keep for example venomous snakes then you can keep what snakes you want others are more strict, my council will only let me keep whats on my licence at the start of the year and the only way to upgrade to more animals is to reapply for the licence and vets check, which costs a fair bit, basically your local council can within reason put whatever rules they want on it.

yeh and as long as the vet is satisfied with your setups then they give the OK, its a pain having to set up vivs for snakes you dont have though, just in case you get them.

Or do what I did and set up ONE viv with several tubs inside for a collection of juveniles.

Chances are thats what you'll be getting anyway Wink
