Hi

You can sex chondros at 12 months and 100g in weight. No need to wait for 2 yrs plus.

Personally i wouldn't even consider it at this age, still too small and fragile.

12 months and 100g is the general consensus among the experts as the earliest point at which they can be safely sexed. But I agree with you, you can't breed the snake at 12 months so why the rush? I have chondros in my collection approaching 2 years and 300g that I still haven't probed.

Why are chondros more delicate than, say, royals? Some probe them straight from the egg Confused

Because of the pre-hensile tail and very small spine. have you ever seen the size of a baby Chondro straight out of the egg, some are barley big enough to eat the smallest of pink's.

is that the one that was/is in the classifieds? i wish i knew what sex VERDI was, i would LOVE that one as a mate ,but verdi's just a bit too young to sex yet. just under a year. Sad
