Hi
My 6 month old bosc spends most of the day in the sink in his tank, swimming around, does anyone know what type of fish i can give him
I have heard that goldfish are bad but not 100% sure on that
Anyone got any ideas please???????

hi.
Goldfish are apparently a big no no for any reptile, i personally dont know why but i have heard it enough times to assume its true and with good reason.
I have never heard anyone say they use them and have reasons that they are ok so i think they are a 100% No.
RickAlbig who is a member here and on rfuk recently posted on a thread and said that he believes any hole ]as in not gutted] fresh water fish is ok, including small rainbow trout...
So I assume that is correct.
I also know of one person who I personalyl would put no trust in actually knowing what he is doing but he has fed his bosc heavily on shrimp....
its alive and doing well So I can only assuem they arent toxic in any way but thats about all.
so...no help there then..sorry dude. _________________ Beardies

hello! i have been told that there is somthing inside of a fish that doesnt go well with reptiles. but in the other hand caimans are 50% land and 50% water so maybe there immune system is alot better? who knows?!?! my debate came about feeding gold fish to garter snakes but i will ask the person who told me tommorow. i fed my dwarf caiman at work 7 rudd and they woofed um down lol funny "sorry to fish lovers" but they were deformed and free and we heading for the slab _________________ Leopard Geckos

Ive never read into feeding fish to reptiles, but how about lance fish? as in the frozen fish sold at aquatic shops for larger fish? |
