Hi all,
My fiance has just bought me Billy - a crested gecko a lad at his work had. He said he did not have the time for him any more and wanted him to go to a loving home. I had looked after him about 6 months ago for a week when the lad went on holiday but he looks smaller than I remembered him to be. He is 12-18 months old

I think he is seriously underweight, and I was wondering if he had a spinal deformity too, as it seemed to be a bit humped - what do you think?

Hi Anne,i've seen a young cresty with a back like that,do his hind legs move/ twitch randomly if so their is some spinal nerve damage and it's best to get him to a vet as soon as possible.

when he walks he does twitch - he was like this also when I looked after him about six months ago but he looks thinner now. What happened to the cresty you were mentioning - I take it if it is nerve damage, it cant be rectified? Crying or Very sad

looks like a severe lack of calcium as it was growing.

doubt if you can change anything but you might be able to keep it healthy (even if it is a little deformed). make sure you offer plenty of calcium and perhaps ask a vets opinion they may give it an injection to boost it a little.

Twitching could be a sign of calcium deficency. A year or so ago one of my females developed twitching legs. A course of calcium and Vitamin D3 injections (from my reptile vet) stopped them. Just something else to consider.
