Frank Retes explained to me that not ever Odatria are "dwarf monitors," and some of them get to be really big. I guess it depend on what you consider as "dwarf" as well.

I think Frank describes Ackies and Kimberly along with Savs as mid-sized monitors and Storr's as small and so on.

So where would you draw the line?

i have been doing alot of research ion these since i posted this topic and i think going by availiability and size, the smallest monitor species and most commonly availiable are:
- Kimberly Rock Monitors (Varanus glauerti) with an adult size of 75cm (60% tail)
- Red Ridge Tailed Monitors or ' Red Ackies' (Varanus acanthurus acanthurus) with an adult size of on average 60 to 70 cm (over half of that is tail)
- Yelow Ridge Tailed Monitor (Varanus acanthurus brachyurus) with an adult size of 45 to 60 cm (60% tail)
- Storr's Monitor (Varanus storrsi) with an adult size of a mere 40 cm.
- Timor Monitor (Varanus timorensis) with an adult size of 60 to 70 cm.

my favourite out of these are ackies and storr's and i would like to get a pair of one of these species at some point, it will most probably be ackies due to the lower price
