what experience is needed before owning venomous of your own. Also what do you need before owning venomous i have hear ed that you need to have locks on Viv and lock on the room door. |

By law you don't need ANYTHING at all. Each council is pretty much free to make up what ever rules/policies it wishes when enforcing DWA.
Basically the DWA license is to protect the public so all reasonable steps should be in place to ensure that happens..ie cage locks, escape proof room.
Common sense would also suggest that you should have experiance in reptiles and preferrably some venomous snake experiance too. _________________

I don't know what the experience by law should be over there, but experience and locks are basic venomous keeping.

I coudn't agree more.
Keeping rear-fanged colubrids and Elapids doesn't appeal to me.
Each to there own I say and anyway it's vipers that really interest me but if I was to keep them I know it would require a totaly different approach. _________________ You can't trust the snake......but you can always trust the snake to be a snake. |
