Little swine, took me 15 minutes to get him off my finger, ended up sticking him in the water bowl to get him off.

Hope that you do not get any bad reaction to the bite, they are rear-fanged and slightly venomous. It reminded me of an incident several years ago that was all my own fault. I foolishly offered a rat to a 6' Northern Pine with my bare hand - not a good idea... Embarassed Rolling Eyes I now use barbecue tongs.

The Pine lunged and took two of my fingers as well as the rat into his mouth and started to work his way down my fingers, eating them. Blood, my blood, all over the place. No way was he going to let go because he also had the rat in his mouth and so thought that he was simply eating his tea... Wink Like you I gathered all 6' of him up and went into the bathroom to dunk his head and my hand under water ( in the sink.....!! ).

He is a dear, gentle boy usually. I still have him, but always use the tongs when feeding him Laughing

I am wearing a cornsnake ring everytime I go to change the water or clean out one of mine. I just walk around with him attached then 15 to 20 minutes later he releases me. It certianly makes it eaier to clean him out it is jsut annoying with the water change as I have to do him last of all.

I hadn't actuall handled the pinks before he bit me Laughing
Weirdly now though he is my favourite, he hisses up and butts me whenever I go near him, its great seeing him giving it 'Yeah I'm big and I'm bad' Laughing

Never known a sp of snake eat like hognoses though, they are all wolfing the food down like there's no tomorrow.
