As some of you may know my husband is not as keen on snakes as me and previously my desire to get another Royal Python was not met with the same enthusiasm HOWEVER He now says that when my tarantula goes up to the spider heaven in the sky ( which considering he is male and full adult should be in a few months- not that I am wishing for a quick departure)- then I can get another one!!!!! He has said it now and as us woman never forget something said, he is doomed!.

I currently just have the 1, 4 month old male normal. I am thinking that getting a female may be a good way to go with potential breeding in the future maybe.

I am not experienced in types so please:
1: what would you suggest would make a good 2nd ?
2: Can anyone recommend the best place to get said 2nd snake from? I have a local reptile store but they just seem to have normals in.

Many Thanks! Wink

I will keep my mouth firmly zipped about HIS saying that you CAN get another one.....!!!!! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Anyway... Smile when I started again with Royals - all of six weeks ago Laughing - the people on this Forum were sooo helpful. They suggested that I buy in female normals this year because they are sooo much cheaper than morphs, with the idea of breeding my own morphs down the line. Next year I am looking to get a morph male, cheaper than the females. I am sure that others will join in with brilliant suggestions, but that is my two-pennies-worth.

All the very best, and have LOTS of fun choosing your new snakie.
Sue

Say you do get a female and say you do manage to breed them.

Seeing little heads peeking out an egg can melt even the coldest and most stubborn hearts!!!! ( not that i am saying your other half is cold or stubborn!!! )

Another 'dirty' tactic to use is to name one of the babies after him. That way he will be more likely to 'let' you keep it. Laughing

Works every time for me!!!!

Certainly did MJ!!!! Laughing Twisted Evil
Plan on going to reptile store this weekend so will check out if they have any females! Though I must be patient and wait for the departure of my tarantula i suppose, maybe, perhaps........
I know it sounds like I am under the thumb ( how awful, really I am not!!) but room is a factor for us and it is not like I could hide the new addition in the bottom of the wardrobe like a new pair of shoes!! Laughing
