Hi Callum, so sorry for your loss. I didnt like to say in the post but you could see this girl had very bad MBD.
The cause was most likely due to her not getting correct supplements as a baby i.e. calcium, vits and UV.
Saying that i have read of chameleons who have had all the correct supplements and still suffered from MBD.
Good luck when you get your new chameleon, i am sure you will give it the very best from the start _________________

I am sure you did your best and you will make sure your new cham will get everything it needs!
but dont rush into it make sure you know what went wrong last time!

Sorry to hear about the cham. Yemens require a nice strong source of UV, powersuns, or an 8% or even 10% uv tube with reflector is a good way to go, they come from a region which has high UV exposure.
Due to their rapid growth rate from word go they need a good regular source of calcium up to x4 per week to ensure their bones are receiving the required calcium.
To aid the assimilation of calcium in their bodies a decent basking spot is also required with a basking spot bulb and reflector dome, tight beam bulbs work well for Yemens. Regulated by a dimmer stat, basking area set to 100f for adults or just under, ambient cool end down to 75f so they can thermoregulate. Being able to bask helps their metabolism to kick start and ensures correct absorption of nutrients, food etc.
Not teaching you to suck eggs but the info may help others with Yemens in possibly guarding against MBD. Yemens are more susceptible to MBD if conditions are incorrect when they are young due to their rapid growth rates.
Best of luck with your next cham. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
