I really like the Austin Stevens stuff, they make wildlife type programs really exciting. From what I have read on this forum and on John Berry's( http://www.johnberryreptiles.com/newreleases.htm ) website he is an ardent herpetoculturist as well as a great down to earth guy. The reptile world needs its hero's and in Austin I think we we have found one.

hi
Excellent, It used a lot of old footage to fill it out but still excellent and in context. I think it is a series so should be on each friday for a few weeks??

One interesting part was his footage of the desert ex-river bed flash flooding. Very rare occurance that nearly had him. It explained how some animals can be moved to areas (like the mamba in this case) that they are not normally found.
All in all excellent stuff.

I watched it, but I had seen it before. It was good and entertaining. I liked the fact that he said it was a rescue mission, and that he wasn't going to dance about and show what the snake can do, he just wanted to bag it quickly and relocate it.
Mind you, my daughter got fed up with him pronouncing Mamba as Momba, she understood that it was because of his accent, but it really irritated her.
Guess how I now pronounce Mamba. Wink

I ended up missing it because I recorded it on Sky box, and then switched to sky HD, and forgot to back it up... damn.
