try some in manual mode at speeds of 100 upwards..1/8 is very slow!..and just triggering the shutter can cause blur. I have just taken some at F2.2 and just used onboard flash..taken from about 3ft away.
and a heavy crop

its not unheard of to get a bad copy of a lens. I have the 50mm f/1.8 and the vast majority of images ive got are very crisp. I did find when i first used it the results were a little soft, but i put that down to me not the camera or the lens, but now i get consistently good results with it. I would contact the seller about a possible replacement |

maybe a bit late but if he sees the pics he may exchange it..No offence but with a lens the price of this one I would have just got it from a shop..I doubt there was much of a saving was there?..think yourself lucky it wasn't a £500 lens!..I know a few that have brought lenses from ebay and deeply regretted it..there are so many things that can be wrong with one..I have only ever purchased one lens off ebay and was very very nervous about it as it was a lot of money but the seller made phone contact and also was happy to refund me after I had given it a good trial over a fortnight(which was decent)..luckily the lens was a gem and all good but so many defective lenses are sold on through ebay its untrue. _________________
