|
|
At long last I have got round to completing the misting system for the chams in the herp room. Its a simple system but does the job.
Drainage in base of vivs; homemade water tank 84ltr with a 100watt aquatic submersible heater in it so the chams get misted with warm water not cold, 112mm dia round guttering below vivs to catch water run off, guttering supported by cup hooks and chain link, chain link used so guttering level can be adjusted and taken down easily if required, no outlet for water as will just vax it up as required, the idea behind this is to increase humidity in the herp room by having a run of water held beneath the vivs, a simple pump attached to the water tank, 4mm tubing delivering the water to various angle adjustable nozzles situated inside each viv. Job done! _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

I have repeat interval digital timers set up, so as often as I want and for as long as I want. From one second intervals upwards, ideal. At present 5 reasonable misting session per day for the adult and sub adult panthers. More lines can be connected into and from the water tank and more pump units added ditto timers, then the baby chams and other species can have their own specific requirements met. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

No its not cycled around due to potential contamination from viv to viv. its purpose is to collect the run off water that drains from the vivs. Also to help increase humidity levels by having static water in the guttering. The guttering has stop ends at the end of each run, to prevent water spillage. Any excess in the guttering I will just vax up as required. Saves having a run of tank and saves reusing and filtering dirty water from the vivs. As before its a basic system but it does what I need of it. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk

Yep by hand, took ages. Much better now and saves valuable time. _________________ www.rickslivefood.co.uk
